Drone Shots from Rainwater

OK, I promise I do work...but the temptation to fly the drone is often times too great- especially on the rare occasional day in Highlands where the sun is out!  These photos were taken from Rainwater, perched high above Highlands CC.  To get these photos, I was another 350' higher than I already was on top of that mountain.  The nice thing about this drone, is the fact is records its GPS coordinates at takeoff so when I land, I just have to hit a button that returns it to the starting point.  When getting photos like this, the drone is 1/2 mile or more away from me and 400 ft in the air.  I control the thing visually with the camera (as if I'm sitting in the cockpit of the drone) because the drone itself is so far out of sight.  What amazes me about technology in general, is if you told me 15-20 years ago that the average person would be able to control an unmanned aircraft like this and return it to your feet, I would never have believed it!  Let alone the fact the technology would be affordable!
