I spent the last day at the State Capital with my peers from the Carolina Golf Association, PGA of America, CMAA as well as golf course owners and builders. The goal is to continually educate our lawmakers on the benefits of golf and its economic impact. Above and Below, Senator Rick Gunn joined us for dinner on Tuesday night and brought us up to speed on the political climate. As the Secretary/ Treasurer of the Carolinas GCSA, I also serve as the NC legislative relations chairman.
We met Wednesday morning with NC Governor, Roy Cooper. He ultimately signed a proclamation declaring June 20th, NC Golf Day.
