TETAC Meeting

Last week, Paul Dalton (HCC's top notch Equipment Technician) attended a TETAC (Turfgrass Equipment Technicians Association of the Carolinas) board meeting in Winston Salem, NC.  Their meeting was held at the headquarters and production facility of JRM manufacturing, who make aerification tines, reel mower bed knives and other 'after-market' mower components.  It was interesting to hear the details of the factory tour that Paul received.  In all these years, I had no idea these components were made in the USA, let alone right here in North Carolina.  Like most things, I assumed these were made overseas.  This company makes high quality components that we often use at HCC on our mowers and aerifiers.

Paul has served on the Board of Directors of this professional association for a little over a year now.  The association is geared towards offering continuing education and networking for the specialized job of golf course mechanics.  A great golf course mechanic is something that is very difficult to find- someone who understands small engine R&M, electronics, pumps, creative fabrication and a thorough understanding of mower sharpening and height of cut setting techniques.  As I continually say, we are blessed in having the team of Paul and Kevin at Highlands CC.  There isn't much they can't troubleshoot!  I'm proud of Paul's involvement with this organization as well.  He represents HCC well and it provides him the ability to teach and learn from other talented technicians.
