Today croquet lawns 1, 2 and 3 were aerated and hand broom topdressed with sand. It is monotonous work but well worth the time spent. It eliminates the need to drive heavy equipment on the greens in addition to being sure we fill 100% of the holes made without applying too much or too little sand. In short, it speeds recovery. Once these courts really begin to heal (100% weather related so I can not predict what that answer is) we will then aerate lawns 4 and 5, while putting these back into play for those who enjoy winter croquet.
