This morning we performed another demo of the Air2G2 machine on the 2nd green. This machine shoots high pressure air to a depth of 12", fracturing the soil below the green. This increase the air porosity in root zone which ultimately leads to better rooting. The major advantage is that it is not disruptive to golfers in the slightest bit other than leaving a clean hole on 18" centers.
Many of you have asked me about boxwoods. As you probably know, there is a boxwood blight that is terrorizing this shrub in the Southeast. If you are interested in more information, I'll be happy to give you an information sheet about treatment options. Unfortunately, if you have boxwoods and want to keep your boxwoods, treatments need to commence in the next week or so and continue on a 14 day interval through mid October (to be safe).
