DryJect- Today and Tomorrow!

We started the DryJect process this morning on the course.  We are doing greens 2 directions and the approaches 1 direction.  The benefit of DryJect is getting additional sand into the root zone of our greens and getting the benefit of continually firming up the surface over time.  These programs are not a replacement for traditional aerification as some might have you believe.  The reason is, we are not removing any organic matter in the form of an aerification plug.  It is a great tool if used consistently and in conjunction with other agronomic cultural practices.  The golf course is now closed on Mondays, allowing us to make nice progress today and we will wrap up tomorrow.  The greens will be playable following brooming tomorrow afternoon.  Thank you for your patience on these important tasks.  Without them, the life expectancy of your greens dramatically decreases.  Also, with weather always being an unknown this time of year, its critical we get this done while the ground is thawed.  If we allow the greens to freeze, we wouldn't be able to do it, thus pushing it to spring, when we will aerify and Graden verticut greens.  I have our dates reserved with this company a year in advance.
