Dryject

November 4th, we will start the Dryject process on our greens.  This machine fires high pressure water into the rootzone, fracturing a channel that is filled with dry sand.  I've done this process once a year for the last 8-9 years and the results are fantastic.  This helps firm up the greens because it injects sand without removing anything like conventional aerification pulls a core.  The result is a firmer surface.  This is a program I am going to work with the green committee on to potentially increase to at least 2x per year, if not 3x per year.  I am considering going 2 directions this November rather than just 1 as we normally do.  The cost of this is about 5 cents/square foot- we have 3 acres of greens (131,000ft2) plus the cost of the sand and the labor to fill the sand hopper.
