The giant sediment bag below security was cut open this morning and is being trucked away. It is pretty interesting seeing the material that came out of the pond. The goal is to have these areas cleaned up by the end of the week and ready for sod by early next week.
You can see the varying layering that occured in the bag (below) from pumping out of various areas of the pond. There are sand layers and then muck-silt layers. I've been asked several times if this would make a good medium for growing plants. The answer in my opinion is no. This material would offer good oxygen exchange and would stay very wet.
