We had a small irrigation repair to make next to the 3rd green. With older irrigation systems, the pipe gets weaker and leaks become more common. We've been fortunate this spring with very few problems. The excess rain also gave us more time to work on these issues without rushing to make repairs in order to water turf. It's really been a great spring. The warmer weather has us farther ahead than years past. In fact, in the 14 years I've been here, I can recall only one other year where the greens were pretty much healed before May 1st. That is pretty exciting. Of course, the rain this spring has been over the top but overall, it's been a great spring.
Below, we got our first truck load of sod today to finish up on #10. I have another load scheduled for Monday morning and another for Tuesday morning. By Wednesday, this project will be a thing of the past. If it wasn't for the extreme rain this spring, this would have been finished a couple weeks earlier. Once this is finished, our golf course labor can be re-directed to work on the golf course.
