I spent the last 2 days in Raleigh for NC Golf Day. This included meetings with Governor McCrory, the Lt. governor and the Labor Secretary. I also presented a $47,000 check to the Dean of Ag and Life Sciences at NC State University. This money was raised through our Rounds for Research program. University funding from the state is decreasing at a rapid pace and as an industry, we can do our part to help.
Again, I serve of the. Chairman of the NC Legislative task force through he CGCSA. This was my second trip to Raleigh in the last 5 weeks to meet with elected officials of issues that effect the game of golf. This could be anything from water restrictions to the golf tax once proposed in the House. Like anything, it is a constant education process to stay ahead of it all. I am proud to serve this roll for our industry.
