Tuesday

It is another busy day at the best Club in the Mountains!  We are topdressing tees and approaches today and hope to have them all wrapped up by this evening.  This leaves us with fairway topdressing which will not be done until all verticutting and aerification is complete.

Above, Gary is deep tining all approaches and many fairway areas today.  As you recall, greens were completed yesterday.  This penetrates the ground to a depth of 6-7".

Chris is busy cutting sod on the 2nd hole.  Not only are we resodding all of the rough on #2, we are also prepping areas around the tees.  The blue tee is being prepped for Zoysiagrass installation while the white tee (below) is being re-squared.  When we topdress tees, you can see we make every effort to ensure all corners of the tees are covered evenly.  Over time, tees have the tendency to become crowned.  This is because the majority of the divot wear occurs in the center of the tee.  When divots are filled, the excess sand causes the surface elevation to rise and become uneven.  This is why tee leveling is typically an every 10 year program.  This means the sod would need to be stripped, the surface laser leveled and then the tee resodded.  It is a fairy large undertaking typically performed by an outside contractor.

Below, Jerry is busy on his office!  He will be sitting on this tractor for the next month, ensuring every square inch of the golf course and driving range are aerified.
