Here is my view this morning. I am spreading a 0-0-50 slow release potassium fertilizer on the greens. Since the fertilizer is slow release, I can put it out at a much higher rate compared to quick release fertilizers. The goal of this application is to get this high rate down into the Graden grooves and aerification holes and provide a season long supply of Potassium to the turf. The spring time is the ideal time to make sure our soils are nutritionally balanced to ensure good plant health through the summer. Of course, we will have to supplement soil inputs through the summer and fall. Also, weekly spraying of foliar fertilizers give the turf precisely what it needs.
