Hopefully these spikes don't find their way to the mountains. Granted this looks like a poor quality green with heavy organics and very wet.
Penn State did much of the early research on soft spikes. The initial varieties of soft spikes available were very effective. As time progressed, spikes like the 'black widow' came available. These particular spikes can create more damage than traditional metal spikes; especially from those golfers who have a tendency to drag their feet when they walk.
