This is a real picture from a golf course in CA. This damage was caused by wild hogs looking for grubs to eat! There is a lot to be said for preventative grub applications. Can you imagine?? Grubs are the larval stage of beetles. Adult beetles lay eggs in June. This is when we spray at HCC. Grubs feed on turf roots but most of the damage occurs when animals like skunks, racoons and in this case, hogs dig for something to eat.
