This morning I met with two representatives from the SubAir company. I am getting quotes to install this technology on greens 1,2,3,8,15,16. These greens get very little sunlight; particularly this time of year. While SubAir does not replace valuable sunlight, it helps us overcompensate with the quality of the rootzone to ensure the surface stays drier after rain events. It is an annual occurrence to see thinning on these greens this time of year because of poor growing conditions.
It is that time to recertify the Club as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. I will have a 3rd party come for a site visit for a day. I always enjoyed working on this project as it is a chance to showcase our environmental efforts at the Club.
Also, with a 100% chance of heavy rain tomorrow, we are spiking, topdressing and applying Calcitic Lime to the greens this afternoon.
