Aerification results

This morning while we were stripping up some sod off of a tee box I snapped the image you see below.  This picture really helps show one of the reasons aerification can be so beneficial over the life of a golf course.  As you can see through aerification it has allowed us to dilute the soil by not only removing the heavier more compacted soil that is the brown color, but also by allowing us to return sand into the holes. This will help to provide better better growing conditions and allow more nutrients to reach the roots for plant uptake.
