#16 Cover

Today we covered #16 green with a semi-permeable green cover.  #16 is a green we cover through the winter because the lack of sunlight on the entire hole can keep snow and ice from melting unlike the rest of the course.  As you can see in the background the snow from Tuesday is still lingering while the rest of the course is clear.  This cover not only can provide protection to the turf but also during warmer days through the winter the soil temperature can be up to 20 degrees warmer, providing more adequate growing conditions for the grass plant.
