The Tenth Hole Recap

The 10th hole was the focus of a lot of work this winter!  Here is a recap in drone shots of what has been done and what will be done as the winter goes on.  Above, the rock bridge at the end of the fairway was re-set so it doesn't impede water movement like it was.  Over time it settled down to water level.  Yes, this is the stone that has Bob Jones carved into it, that lays face down to the water!  If you don't believe me, please see the photo below!

The other project that is taking place is cleaning up the area on the right side of the cart path.  This area is being raised two feet or more to fix the drainage issues.  In addition, several trees were removed to allow us to shift the cart path farther to the right.  The existing cart path will be removed and new path will be paved in mid to late March!

Above, the yellow line is the approximate location of the new cart path.  This will be a HUGE improvement to the golf course.  Many Ross experts rate this as one of the best 18 holes Donald Ross designed and this only makes it better, both aesthetically and from a playability perspective.

And finally, the pond on #10 was dredged!  It goes without saying this was needed.  You can see the obvious scars left on the fairway and roughs that will be further cleaned and re-sodded.  #10 will look like a brand new hole once you return this spring and I am so excited for you to see it and play it again!
