Today fairways, approaches, as well as some weaker areas in the rough, received a fertilizer application of a 16-4-8 product. This application will dense the turf up this fall but even more importantly, it will allow us to come out of winter much faster, next spring. The product is 60% quickly available nutrients and 40% slow release. These means will get a nice flush of growth but there will be plenty of nitrogen that will offer a steady feeding into winter. Turf that goes into winter with a healthy carbohydrate reserve, is faster coming out of dormancy in the spring.
