If you visited the practice facility today, you saw the stations set up where the putting green once was. The Green Committee made the decision last winter to do away with the putting green in exchange for more hitting space. One of our winter goals will be to level this area and raise it to the elevation of the rest of the tee. In addition, we hope to extend the mats the length of the tee, doubling the number of the artificial turf hitting stations. That work would commence once the club closes for the season.
On #3, you'll see three bails of wheat straw lining the cart path at the drainage basin inlet. During severe weather events, we've had problems with the inlet getting clogged, diverting the surface water to the side and down the bank. This erodes the bank and causes #1 pond to look muddy. Once we are out of the thunderstorm pattern, we will remove the bails of straw which are currently acting as a water break to slow water down before it goes over the bank. Your patience is appreciated while we get grass established on the bank that can hold the soil in place.
