Lots going on today, including the installation of 9,000ft2 of sod. The project at #3 green and #4 tees is now complete and it will be spectacular when it's all grown in and striped up!
Great photos of #1 showing the sod removal on #1. The load of sod today also included 6,000ft2 of Kentucky Bluegrass that was layed on #1.
Sod installed on the 1st hole will offer beautiful contrast between fairway and rough.
On the first hole, all the sod is being short-hauled to the start of the rough, where a trucking company can back their dump trucks right up to the pile, load up and haul it off site.
On the 15th hole, we recently removed a white pine that was heavily leaning and rotten inside. I find it fun counting the rings and thinking about all the events happening around the world while that tree stood in the same place, growing larger every year. I counted 109 rings before I got to the rotten portion of the tree. I estimate the tree to be about 125 years old.
Hap was caught sitting down on the job.
