With the turf removed from the rough on #1, it’s given us the opportunity to raise a few low areas on the left side of the hole. These areas have been a challenge for many years. Using the Town’s ground penetrating radar unit, we discovered there are about a 1/2 dozen pipes below ground here, making it difficult to install any subsurface drainage. Keep in mind, this area has had water lines, sewer lines, old golf course irrigation lines and even septic lines from before the Fairway Villas were hooked onto the town sewer system. In those days, #1 fairway acted as the drain field for the condo septic systems.
