Today was our first trout stocking of 2024! In total, about 3,000 trout were released into Club Lake and the ponds on #1 and #15. A majority of the fish were 12" rainbow trout. In addition, several hundred Golden Trout were also released into the Club's lake and ponds. A golden trout is a subspecies of rainbow trout.
Above, Billy Brooks handles a golden trout. We'll get a second load of fish in a few weeks. Stocking is better done when the water is cold and the trough are happiest. This is why we won't stock in the summer.
