Yesterday I was looking at green profiles on several putting greens. What you see here is nothing short of incredible for 26 year old USGA spec greens. Most USGA greens start failing at this age. This is why the average life expectancy of a USGA green is 25 years. But due to the aggressive maintenance practices we employ, these greens will last for many more years. What makes these photos so desirable is the amount of new sand (the white sand) that we are continually incorporating into the profile. We continue to dilute the organic matter so it can't form a layer that water won't move through. The porous white sand you see ensures that we're able to grow a dense, deep root system to support the turf.
