Tuesday

Greens will be rolling nice today after a double-cut, roll and light topdressing.

As I’ve been talking about, we’ve really refined the way we’ve been treating our approach/runoff areas around the greens. The Turf Trainer brushes have really worked out nicely and I see no reason to stop using them anytime soon. We are seeing some scalping on irrigation ditches in areas but some of that is to be expected given the size of the project we just completed. In the coming weeks, you’ll continue to see us aerate and roll those areas impacted by scalping. Aeration allows us to smooth the areas out rather quickly.

I’m currently working on components of the 2024 budget; specifically capital needs.  Below is a piece of equipment I'm considering to compliment the fairway inner-seeding and aggressive grooming we've been doing.  This brush is pulled by a tractor and would allow us to stand the grass upright, and knock the dew off the grass, prior to mowing.  I see this as something we would start doing once a week and then back off of it to every other week once we see the results we want.  There are several golf clubs on Long Island, NY using this piece and like the results they see.   SISIS, not to be confused with the Muslim terrorist network ISIS, is a British manufacturer of specialty turfgrass maintenance equipment.
