The Admiral

Above you can enjoy the video of Happoldt’s monstrous slow-motion long jump on the 2nd hole!

When asked about it Hap said, "I think I am really getting close to beating Carl Lewis' best he set in Tokyo in 1991.  With more practice, there's no question I'll be right there with him, making regular 29-foot plus jumps.  I know I have it in me."

Later in the interview, he went on to say, "My anatomy is a little bit different from the long-jumpers of my day.  While there are pros and cons of each of us, I'm making the best of these inverted knees that I have that can only be found on dogs and deer and a few other animals.  It helps me with forward mobility but hinders me on gaining any kind of beneficial elevation gain to prolong my jumps.  I loose altitude quickly, which in turn, shortens my jumps."

He ended the presser with the following.  "Jumping is exciting for me but let's not lose site for the real reason I'm here and that's to chase tennis balls and escort Canada Geese off-site."
