Friday

It's fascinating that the Barn Swallows on #18 go to and return from South America every year.  They are always fun to see all summer but they also require us to scrub and clean the shelter at #18 tee on a frequent basis!

Today we started cleaning up a few areas around the golf course where briars and tree saplings are growing in and around the native rhododendron on the golf course.  This is one of those ongoing jobs we have to do to keep the peripheries of the golf course looking sharp.  Our main focus today was #2 and then #5 and #6.  In the coming weeks, we'll be addressing other areas across the golf course.

Our landscape technician, Nathan, found this little guy wondering around alone.  At first glance, he thought it was a chicken but where would a chicken come from on the campus, right?? After further research, it turns out it's a baby wild turkey!  Pretty cool!  I personally never saw a young turkey like this.
