Last autumn you may recall we received some test seed from Penn State University, where a Geneticist and Plant Breeder worked for 25 years developing a seed source for superintendents who had Poa annua greens.

The nursery was seeded in mid fall but as temperatures dropped off fairly quickly, we ran out of time to get the nursery properly established. Therefore, we are seeding it again today. We ran our Graden verticutter over the nursery to create some nice grooves for the seed to settle and germinate in. With seed in the ground in addition to starter fertilizer, we are irrigating the nursery for 5 mins, five times per day.
