Aggressive verticutting on the greens started this morning and will continue through next week. This machine cuts 3mm wide channels about 1.5" apart, across the green, backfilling them with dry sand as it goes along. That said, it is very labor intensive keeping the hopper filled with sand and then a clean up crew coming in behind it. You can see the amount of organic matter that's being removed from the putting greens. This is a great aeration tool and one that does the best for firming up putting surfaces. This aeration practice will set the greens up nicely for the season ahead.
