Thursday

A day with no rain was much appreciated and allowed us to get back out on the golf course.

On #15, we’re continuing our work on the culvert and boulder work that was started on Monday.  As you can see, the old rusted galvanized pipe is sleeved inside of the new 15" plastic pipe.  We're starting to backfill over the new pipe and stack boulders along the creek.  Many of the new boulders we are using are coming from the ditches that the irrigation contractor is digging.  When they hit a rock, they remove it from the ditch rather than pushing it back over the newly installed water line.  Because of this we've generated an awesome pile of quality rock that it is currently stockpiled behind the golf course maintenance building.

There is no question we'll eventually need to replace the rest of the galvanized pipe below #15 fairway.  When we do this, we will simply tie onto the 15" pipe closest to the fairway.  The pipe under the cart path and in the creek will not be disturbed.  Again, the main reason for this project was to repair and prevent more ground collapsing around this cart path which, turned into a real safety hazard.
