Today was the first time trying out our new Toro fairway and rough aerator. As you can see below, it pulls a very nice plug at a much tighter spacing than we were ever able to do in the past. To gain maximum benefit from aerating surfaces, the more disruption we achieve, the better the benefit to the turf. Aggressiveness is achieved by either larger diameter cores or closer hole spacing. We are starting today on the back nine roughs and will start fairway aeration after we close at the end of the month.
