Howard Fertilizer is on site today applying pulverized dolomitic limestone to the golf course and practice facility at a rate of 1,500 lbs. per acre. This is being applied to raise our soil pH, which is naturally becoming acidic. This is an application we make once every 3 years or so, based on soil test results. The truck above, has large balloon tires on it which spreads out the weight of the truck. This truck has less pounds per square inch than some of our equipment, which allows it to access all areas of the golf course without leaving any evidence in the form of tire tracks.
On #1, you may remember there was a catch basin in the center of the approach. This was not for water, rather it was an air vent for the 1st green. Since there is no need for it to be located in the approach, we are moving it off to the side in the rough, where it will be more hidden.
While Wayne and Billy are building a roof on the log cabin at the Farm, Lyn is busy building stone walls around the pillars and the foundation of the structure.
