Croquet lawns #2 and #3 were aerated this morning with 5/8" hollow tines. Topdressing sand was applied to the lawns before the aeration. This has always worked better for us and eliminates the need to drive heavy equipment on the turf after the ground is softened because of the many holes. Lawn #1, the newest lawn of the three, will be aerated later this month on October 25th. This gives the Strikers a lawn to play on while the other two are healing.
It is nice seeing some rain in the forecast regardless of how small the chance is. The last rain event we had was September 12th! We've gone one month with no rain fall! That stat is unheard of in Highlands NC!
