One thing we rarely hear is that we are in a severe drought in Highlands. However, we are now approaching a month and a half without any measurable rainfall. Combined with low humidity, we are in a dangerous situation.
This morning, we were fortunate to have caught a small brush fire on the golf course where a member disposed of fireplace ashes and coals by throwing them in the woods. This could have gotten very serious if we had not seen it. Please use common sense for the sake of your neighbors and the golf course during this critical time of drought.
