How not to take divots on the practice tee…

Yesterday, a collegiate men's golf team visited the Club and before their tee time, used the practice facility for an hour or so.  They more than likely set a record for the number of balls hit over a period of time.  Unfortunately, several of the players left a divot pattern that is most destructive to the tee.  This area of missing turf is nearly 8-9 square feet in area!  It will be next July by the time this spot is ready to be played from again.  Please see the graphic at the top of this post for the correct way to practice.  By following this simple pattern, you'll be conserving turf for future use and also reducing the heal time of divots.  This is a great example of a way you can enhance the condition of your facilities at Highlands CC.
