While mowing fairways this morning, Gary and Tim started a circle cutting process that allows the turf to be cut from a number of different angles. This helps promote an upright growth habit of the turf and something we do on a monthly basis.
While cleaning up some broadleaf weeds on the sprayer this morning, I got a few photos from angles of the course you normally don't see. It's always fun seeing the golf course from different vantage points.
A club member send me this photo of a Pileated Woodpecker (aka: Woody) on the golf course. This is a bird that you don't see everyday on the golf course.
On #15, we have some form of a water leak. It sounds vague, because I don't quite understand what is happening there. This is caused by a 4" pipe running consistent water that isn't tied into anything. We have some major investigating to do to find out if this is a town water line, a drain pipe of sorts from a neighboring property or something completely different. We do know it is not part of the Club's irrigation system, which is a relief. The water coming from the pipe does not contain any chlorine, which likely rules out the chance of it being a town water line. It's a bizarre situation, for sure.
Our crew foreman, Lyn, and company wrapped up the new stone patio at the clubhouse. This was done in addition to similar work at the swimming pool. In total, the boys set 41,000 lbs. of rock! They did a wonderful, quality job and these areas will be enjoyed for many years into the future.
