On number #15, between the blue and white tee, is a short gravel road that allows maintenance and members to enter the golf course. By now, you're aware of the new walk path at #2 tees where we used a granite material in place of mulch. Kafka Granite, a company in Wisconsin, produces this product that is comprised of crushed granite and a wax binder. It's become well know for its ability to stay in place, even during heavy downpours. This reduces the labor that is required to shovel and rake mulch back into place after rain events. Today, we took the remainder of what we had and put it on the gravel entrance on #15 so we can see how it performs and holds up after constant traffic. This product could potentially be a solution for holes like #1 and #17, where the cart path comes into play from the tee. When a ball hits this material, it won't bounce, thus reducing the chance of a golf ball being forced out of bounds by an asphalt cart path.
