PoaCure

It's finally official!  PoaCure has hit the market.  This product was in limbo while trying to obtain a label via the EPA.  We've done quite a bit of experimenting with this over the last 5 years and there is no question, it gives 100% control of Poa annua in a stand of creeping bentgrass whether that be a tee, a fairway or a green.

At Highlands CC, this presents somewhat of a dilemma. On on shaded greens, Poa annua is far more adaptable to that environment. If we eliminate it, we’ll be left with nothing. On our greens that get adequate air movement and sun, Bentgrass is the predominate species. This product will be better suited for those courses who recently did greens renovations and are all Bentgrass and want to stay that way. We will be using this product on several greens, including the putting and chipping greens at the practice facility.

Is this the perfect product?  It certainly appears to be right now but many experts feel that in 10 years, many Poa annua biotypes will develop resistance to it. In the meantime, it buys golf 10 more years to develop another product to eradicate Poa annua.
