We received a new piece of equipment today; a new log splitter. As you may know, we provide all of the firewood used in the Clubhouse and Hudson House throughout the year. This equates to about 5-6 cords of wood. What's special about this, you ask? Well, it attaches to the hydraulics of a tractor, meaning it doesn't have its own stand alone engine. It also cuts both directions meaning you don't have to pull the blade back in order to put another log on the splitter. But the really cool advantage of this model is that it will split 36" logs, which will fill the large fireplaces in Club facilities. Most standard wood splitters only cut 24" long logs. This splitter will serve us well for a long time. I spent the last 2 weeks doing research on all the different options and this make and model was the best all around.
