Both of these were taken during a round of golf I recently played. These are not taken at Highlands CC.
Above: Always enter a bunker from the low side. These kinds of mishaps are difficult to repair. If you enter and exit a bunker on the low side, you eliminate the chance of this happening.
Below: Everyone knows the USGA made it legal to putt with the flagstick in the cup. This was a smart decision on their part to help speed up play but with everything, there are unintended consequences. Many superintendents are now complain that their sharply cut cups are worn and ragged after only a few groups play in the morning. Golfers are getting creative with how they remove their ball from the hole. Using the flagstick to flip the ball from the hole is becoming a popular method that does treat the cup edge kindly. The edge of the cup quickly becomes rounded and looses it's crispness. This can effect you because it allows more putts to "lip out." This is just something to think about if you've adopted one of the new creative ball retrieval methods on the green.
