Sunlight to #2 Green

One of the most common things I hear is that the shade on the greens can't be that bad, after all, I've been dealing with it for so long and I haven't had too many problems.  While it is true, we have been dealing with it for some time, every year that goes by, the greens get more and more shade coverage.

This graphic below shows you how much sun #2 green received 10 years ago, where we are today and what it will be like 10 years from now.  My prediction: In 10 years, #2 green will have very poor grass coverage.  The only hope for that green would be a genetic variety of Poa annua that can acclimate to withstand that low amount of sun.

Ten years ago, #2 green didn't have any 1-2 hours of sunlight portions.  Today and into the future, you can see that grow.  As you look at this, the goal for any grass species in 10 hours of sunlight per day.
