Above, you can see how the warmer temperatures last week in conjunction with the rain really greened up fairways like the 10th!
Below, We are in full force blowing the golf course with the tractor and using back pack blowers on tees and greens. It's rewarding to see the course come along. We still have a month to go, but clean up takes about 3-4 weeks. In addition, we still have greens aerification as well as mulching/pinestraw of the golf course beds to do. There is a lot of time consuming tasks and work to be done before April 12th!
Matthew and Baldemar are continuing to make progress on staining the Bob Jones Bridge. The dark color makes all the difference!
Above, roofers started placing the cedar shakes on the roof of the Hudson House. Our sod is starting to tack down (root) and beginning to look pretty uniform across the complex.
Below, once we get a bulk of the spring clean up behind us, we will be working to level a handful of sprinkler heads as well as regrading the slope of several drainage collection basins, like the one below. Given our aggressive fairway topdressing (sand) program, the sand added to the surface can redefine the slope and raise the ground level around fixed objects like these.
Above, a spring is bubbling out of the bank on the 10th hole. This photo doesn't do it justice but this is an unbelievable amount of water!
Below, my favorite tree on the golf course, a Kwanzan Cherry, is starting to bloom. Temperatures are expected to drop to around 12*F tonight, which will certainly wax these flowers. This is a common occurrence each year.
