The rock masons are making nice progress. It's nice to see they are cutting and prepping stone off site and then bringing it here on pallets. This style of stonework is VERY labor intensive and doing the work on site creates a massive dust storm from the saws running as well as creating a very loud job site.
Now that the bridge is complete, Jerry is sanding the handrails down and putting some additional screws in the floor boards. In another month, this structure will be ready for a nice dark stain that will help it blend into the environment.
This is quite the ditch...we hit rock about 40 feet from the Hudson House but it is looking like we'll be able to break through it. Worst case scenario, we will rent a jack hammer for tomorrow to allow us to shave it down the the depth we need. I'm anxious for you to see this project 2 weeks from today. It will be cleaned up and well on its way to being covered in sod. I'll be meeting with the asphalt paver this afternoon to get on his list to pave the cart path and parking lot this spring.
