Here are a few more wood turning creations from wood off the golf course. Above are two wine bottle stoppers...the one on the left is made of walnut and the one on the right is made of Oak burl. Burl is part of the tree that grows in unique patterns due to some form of trauma to the tree. It often looks like a “cancerous growth” on the side of the tree. The huge oak tree behind the ninth green is a perfect example of this and exactly where this wood came from.
