STMA is holding their annual "best mowing pattern" contest where members submit their own photos and voting is done on social media. There are some pretty neat designs...my favorite being the plaid below! These guys continue to take these patterns to the extreme and just when you think it can't get anymore creative, someone does just that! Here are two pretty cool examples:
Lines on turf are nothing more than the way light reflects off the grass. The more the grass is laid over on it's side, the more dramatic the effect. On golf courses, while stripes lend themselves well to fairways, dark, pronounced stripes can sometime indicate a poor quality of cut. If mower reels aren't sharp, the grass will lay over as opposed to dense, upright growing turf, which is the goal from a playability standpoint.
