Wildcat Cliffs CC hosted the annual Town of Highlands Scholarship Golf Tournament today. For the last 9 years, I have served as chairman of this event and we've raised nearly $180,000 in that time. This event has been going on since 1975 and awards scholarships to students who graduate from Highlands School. Locally, this is a unique and special program for kids pursuing their education at a university. The winning team was none other than Highlands CC's own, Teeter Smith along with Bill Richards, Mike Shannon and Bob Smith. Mike Shannon had a hole in one on the 17th hole! The weather was perfect and approximately $20,000 was generated for the scholarship fund. In addition to the golf tournament, the ABC store contributes to the fund as well as the Three Rivers Fly Fishing Tournament. The golf tournament however, is the largest contributor to the roughly $35,000 that's given out annually.
