Asheville Tourists Baseball Game

Hard work is rewarded with play at Highlands CC. Saturday night, the entire Golf maintenance team attended the Asheville Tourists minor league baseball game where they took on the Rome Braves. A total of 26 of us had a great time and enjoyed each other's company outside of work.

The highlight of the night is captured above. Chad and Harold were 2 of 3 people selected from the crowd to participate in a short game during the 7th inning stretch. They had to simply throw a baseball into the open trunk of the vehicle driven on the field (advertising for KIA). If they made it in the trunk, they would win a free oil change at this dealership. In the end, both of the these staff members made HCC proud and walked away with a free oil change! The third guy (a random fan, not an employee)...well, he wasn’t so lucky and missed the trunk all together. It’s great seeing our staff succeeding in all kinds of ways! This was one of the funnier things I’ve ever seen and definitely a night I’ll remember for a long time. Their form and delivery to get the ball into the back of the car was nothing short of spectacular.

To add to the night, Chad’s son Cam (6 years old) was selected to race the mascot around the bases- which he did so successfully and capped it off with an amazing home plate slide as you can see in the video above!
