Spring Weather

 
After a very cold April, I estimate we are 3 weeks behind where we would be during an average Highlands season.  The hybrid rhododendron are just now starting to break buds into flower.  It's going to be spectacular in another week or so. 
 
Interesting fact: you can tell the difference between a native and hybrid rhododendron by the color of the flower as well as the time of year it flowers.  Native flowers are always white.  If there is variation in that, like pink or purple, it is a hybrid.  Secondly, hybrids flower in early-mid May while Natives flower in June.
 
Below, the few azaleas around the club are really beautiful right now.
