With the greens slowly coming around, we started this afternoon on an afternoon cut. We'll be implementing this practice until we are officially not picking up sand that remains on the surface from aerification. Afternoon mowings are extremely beneficial for a number of reasons. Faster green speeds and a better quality of cut are two examples. In my 18 years at Highlands CC, this has been the longest spring that we've faced in terms of the greens healing from aerification. Of course, this is a direct result of the cold April.
