This annual program that I've chaired in years past, generates about $50,000 annually to turfgrass research at Clemson and NC State Universities. This is a national program with proceeds going to the university turfgrass program in the region the course is located. There are excellent courses to choose from and the proceeds go to a good cause. As state budgets get tighter and tighter, less money is going to agricultural research. This may not seem like a big issue but the ramifications are serious.
